Dr Bircher is 5'10" tall with a slim build and short ginger colour hair. He also wears spectacles.
In September 2011 he went on a pilgrimage to Santiago De Compostela Spain via France. He was making this journey by foot and was only carrying a tent and a sleeping bag. He had informed his sister that he would buy clothes in France.
He had made this journey before and was familiar with the route. Bank statements show him making a withdrawal in France in September and no further transactions since. The family haven't had any contact from Dr Bircher which is apparently out of character as he would always send postcards to his mother.
As well as English he speaks reasonably good French.
